Bellefontaine Cemetery - STL History

Dedicated in 1850 Bellefontaine Cemetery serves as the final resting place of many famous St. Louisans --- from William Clark to Adolphus Busch. Among the over 82,000 people buried there are fur trader Manuel Lisa, kindergarten creator Susan Blow, poet Sara Teasdale, James Eads, and Senator Thomas Hart Benton.

One of the more interesting additions is the Browns owner Chris Von der Ahe who rests beneath a life-size statue he built before going bankrupt.

We have some great history here in town!
