The first cocktail party ever thrown was held in the CWE at 4501 Lindell. Held in May of 1917 - Mrs. Julius S. Walsh Jr. invited 50 guests to her home at noon on a Sunday. The party lasted an hour, until lunch was served at 1 pm.
Guess who lives at 4501 Lindell Now... The Catholic Archdiocese bought the Walsh mansion in 1930 and it is now the Archbishop's Home ;-)
